Like Santiago de Chile, the city of Valparaíso and its surroundings were also affected by the earthquake that happened in Central Chile on February 27th, 2010, but only minor damages were reported. The harbour of Valparaíso was operating already again one day later, on February 28th, 2010. Since March 2nd, 2010, travelArt is offering its trips and excursions to Valparaíso and surroundings as usual, and restrictions are not expected. The funicular elevators of Valparaíso are operating as well, and the highway to Valparaíso is in good condition. Hotels and other tourist service providers did not report any damage, and they are working normally.
