AYCA La Flora is located in the heart of the historic centre of Valparaíso, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2003.
The boutique hotel is run by a German-Chilean couple with passion and love for every detail. Thanks to its special site on the hill Concepción, you have a wonderful view of the port city.
This unique location and the colourful gardens make the hotel a perfect place to linger and relax.
The hotel building is a restored early 20th century house with a modern industrial-style annex. The style of the modern annex is a tribute to the industrial and avant-garde history of the port city. The architecture gives homage to Valparaiso’s famous lifts.
AYCA La Flora offers 11 individually and lovingly furnished rooms, each with private bathroom.
As part of the AYCA’s nature reserve project, on “EL Cornelio” (7 hectares, 60 km northeast of Valparaiso), the hotel owners are reforesting the Chilean palm, which is in danger of extinction. For each guest, they promise to take care of more palm trees. At least 2% of the value of a stay in the hotel will be reinvested in the care of the palms. By now they planted already about 30 palm trees.
Some colleagues from the travelArt team visited both the hotel and “El Cornelio”, where they tasted wine, local cheese and homemade empanadas.
