The Zero Hotel is housed in one of the brightly painted houses so typical for Cerro Alegre (‘Happy Hill’), which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage listing for Valparaíso. Built by north European immigrants in 1880, it was located in a privileged position, with views overlooking the bay of Valparaíso. The beautiful winter garden allows guests to enjoy these views during breakfast and to begin the day in a relaxed manner. The rooms of the Zero Hotel are spacious and have ceilings up to 4m/13ft high, and large windows that let in plenty of daylight. One of the four terraces has a swimming pool and a whirl pool, where guests can recover from strolls up and down the city’s countless steps. A special feature at the Zero Hotel is the «Honesty Bar», where guests help themselves from the living room counter – just like at home – and make a note of the number of drinks consumed themselves.
