For visitors to Easter Island, since August 1, 2018, a new law has come into force that limits the stay in the special area of Easter Island to a maximum period of 30 days. (more) The reason for this new regulation is the strongly growing tourism, which increasingly influences the lives of the islanders and leads to ecological challenges, too. This law applies to all foreign and Chilean travelers. Only the indigenous Rapa Nui population and officially registered islanders are excluded from this regulation.

Copy of the return ticket from the island
Submission of the registration form FUI
All travelers visiting Easter Island will be required to complete the registration form (Formulario Único de Ingreso – FUI) at the Latam check-in desk. Every traveler must have this stamped at the Policía de Investigaciones (PDI). A corresponding switch of the PDI is located near the Latam check-in. Before entering the aircraft the registration form FUI will be checked. IMPORTANT: The form (FUI) must be kept by the traveler and presented again on departure from Easter Island!
