travelArtista Andrea from Puerto Varas recently spent three days in the “wilderness”. She was not getting lost, but rather was following an invitation from our provider, the Mitico Puelo Lodge, situated amidst the most pristine nature at Tagua Tagua Lake. On the drive there along the Reloncaví Fjord, you will already have wonderful view of the fjord and forget about your daily routine. Andrea’s discovery tour led her to trekking, e.g. to Playa la Arena, a beach that looks almost like the Caribbean… except for the Valdivian Rainforest and the very “Chilean” water temperatures. Other excursions led her deeply into the hidden “Tagua Tagua” nature park with its turquoise lakes, waterfalls and amazingly dense greenery with young and old alerce trees and rich fauna. Time does not matter, and to be there, amidst the abundant nature, feels like pure luxury.
A highlight of the tour was a visit to the “Viña Villaseñor Puelo” winery, the second farthest south winery in the world. Because of the particular climate, its wines have their very own character and can be tasted only on the winery. They are not for sale and therefore a unique pleasure!
The rustic and cosy Mitico Puelo Lodge offers spacious rooms, some of them with great lake views and balcony. Hot tubs, fireplaces and the restaurant cater to wellbeing and relaxation. Guests that do not want to completely resign from the outside world can use modern comforts such as internet and TV.
