BREATHTAKING PANORAMIC VIEW OVER SANTIAGO
The San Cristóbal hill, about 880 metres high, offers one of the best panoramic views of Chile’s capital. It is also home to the Parque Metropolitana, the city’s largest “green lung” and, at more than 700 hectares, the fourth largest city park in the world and the largest in Latin America.
You can walk uphill or take a bike, car or bus up the hill. However, for a special view of the Santiago skyline, take the cable car, built in 1979 and reopened in 2016 after a complete renovation.
47 modern cabins in red, blue and green and with space for up to 6 people offer visitors a unique experience high above the city metropolis. The cable car travels almost 4 km (both ways). The round trip takes about 15 minutes. Bicycles can be transported in some cabins and the cable car is also disabled-friendly.
The boarding stations offer an attractive environment with a cafeteria that allows visitors to have a fun and pleasant day.
