CHILE WINS FIVE AWARDS AND CONSOLIDATES ITS LEADING POSITION IN NATURE TOURISM

At the World Travel Awards, which are regarded as the Oscars of the tourism industry, Chile once again stood out among the nominees in South America. The country received the top award in five categories, three of which are closely linked to nature tourism. Chile was recognized as the best green destination. A noteworthy point here is the certification of companies with the S seal by the national tourism authority Sernatur, which assures tourists that various tourism services in Chile comply with global sustainability criteria.

For the tenth year in a row, Chile was awarded Best Adventure Travel Destination, thanks to its leading role in the development of outdoor experiences and the variety of landscapes and activities, ranging from sandboarding in the north of the country to rafting and trekking in Patagonia. Another recognition went to Chile once again: the award for the most romantic destination in South America, won by the Atacama Desert for the seventh year in a row.

Two new awards highlighted Chile from a group of 17 nominations. The first is for Best Youth Travel Destination, which emphasizes nightlife, urban culture and variety of activities for young travelers. Santiago received the award for the best city due to its cultural, gastronomic and entertainment offer. Santiago also serves as a starting point for exploring and getting to know other regions of the country.
