Chilean Cuisine Gains Recognition

The 50 best Latin-American restaurants were recently nominated for the so-called Pellegrino List (named for its sponsor) at a gala in Mexico City. Four Chilean restaurants made it onto the list: Rudolfo Guzmán, with his restaurant Boragó, achieved second place. The Chilean restaurants Osaka (in the W Hotel), Ambrosía and 99 were numbers 25, 32 and 46 on the list. Being on the list is an important achievement in the industry, as it takes 252 expert opinions into account. Rodolfo Guzmán predicts a gastronomical revolution. Chilean wines have been famous internationally for a long time, whereas Chilean cuisine had not garnered much attention so far. The nominated restaurants prove that Chile’s chefs impressively excel not only at traditional recipes, but also with innovative creations, and therefore deserve international recognition.
