- Notes
During this excursion, you spend the day following in the tracks of the arrieros: the mountain horse and mule drivers. The tour begins with a transfer from the hotel to the Comunidad Ecológica de Peñalolen (Ecological Community of Peñalolen), where the horses are ready and waiting. Setting off at the foot of the mighty Cerro San Ramón, the tour continues ever upwards through the Quebrada (gorge) de Peñalolen, passing an indigenous forest landscape until reaching the clear melt water of a river coming down from the Andes. A BBQ is served there, and the option to take a stroll or a dip in the refreshing clear river is available.
This tour is available all year round.
No previous riding experience is necessary.
The route takes around 5hrs to complete, of which 4hrs are on horse-back.
BBQ included, and the return to Santiago takes place in the evening.
