Based on the reviews left on TripAdvisor by millions of world travellers, the metropolis of Santiago and the town of San Pedro de Atacama, located in the driest desert of the world, were rated as top destinations in Chile.
Santiago is ranked 9th in this 11th version of the Travellers’ Choice Awards, with the capital being described as one of those “metropolitan joys” where “the more you look, the more you find”.
San Pedro in the Atacama Desert impressed travellers with its “unusual and beautiful landscape” and made it to the 21st place. The sandstone canyons, volcanic peaks, spectacular rock formations, and salt flats with flamingos are just some of the popular sights, which are preferably explored on foot, on horseback or by bike.
