New “City Tour de los Barrios”

We set out to develop a special new city tour in Santiago for you: the “City Tour de los Barrios”. A travelArt tour guide leads guests to experience Santiago’s evolution from a colonial city full of military and ecclesiastical institutions to a vivid, urban city after the 19th century. Guests will discover the emblematic neighbourhoods (“Barrios”) Barrio Brasil, Quinta Normal, Yungay and Concha y Toro, following the footsteps of a Santiago beyond the power of government and beyond the business districts of the city centre. This side of the capital shows a bit of the soul of its inhabitants and their ancestors, who shaped and developed their Barrios. These Barrios saw small bourgeois life, with its special magic of the everyday combined with the traditional. Here, a preserved cultural treasure mixes with the creativity, innovations and the blazing life of its present inhabitants.
