In the midst of nature and the countryside of Pirque, just 50 minutes by car from the centre of Santiago, is the Hotel Las Majadas de Pirque, set in a park with more than a thousand evergreen native trees.
After visiting the hotel facilities, our colleagues took part in a guided tour consisting of a walk through the park and a visit to the palace, where they learned more about its history.
The impressive French-style palace, built in 1907 and located in the middle of the park, today also serves as a congress centre and houses a cafeteria.
After the tour, they had the experience of participating in the hotel’s “Taller de brasas” barbecue workshop.
It is a private cooking workshop for groups of 6 to 24 people with one of the hotel’s chefs who distributes different tasks to the participants to prepare dinner together.
“Everything was very dynamic in a relaxed atmosphere with music and conversation next to the fire pit,” says travelArtist Nicholas.
Nicholas reports on the following day: „After a delicious breakfast, we went on a half-day hike in the area around the hotel, from where we could see the low mountains of the Maipo Valley, the lightly snow-capped peaks of the Cajón del Maipo and the terrain of the Haras de Pirque and Santa Rita vineyards.”
