Chile – One of the best destinations for wine tourism

If you love good wines and want to enjoy Chilean wine (exported to more than 150 countries worldwide) in the heart of where it is produced, you must not miss a tasting at the foot of the Andes.

Chile is considered one of the best destinations in the world for wine tourism. This was evident at the World Conference on Wine Tourism, which brought together more than 300 leading international wine experts in Chile’s wine region of Valle de Colchagua from December 4th to 6th, 2019. Also, according to the World Tourism Organization UNWTO, more than 550,000 tourists came to Chile last year who were mainly interested in wine-related tourism activities – and the trend is rising.

Whether on a tour through the Elqui, Casablanca or Rapel Valley, those who travel Chile’s wine routes will enjoy not only superb wines in the numerous wineries, but also the beautiful landscapes in the most diverse regions of Chile. At historic wineries in the Cauquenes and Itata Valleys where wine is produced according to traditional methods, you can discover the original 18th century viticulture. You can also visit the Atacama vineyards in the driest desert in the world and taste the sweet wine Pajarete, produced only in this region.
